Meet Veronica Jorden, the founder and co-owner of Storyteller Alley: providing services for both authors and readers alike. Veronica has been in love with reading from being a child, as a ‘military brat’. Living in different places around the world meant that her Grandmother sent Veronica a lot of books: these stories transported Veronica to a different place. This love of reading naturally transitioned to writing.
Veronica’s favorite book? Pride and Prejudice; but… she actually falls slightly in love with every book she reads!
Storyteller Alley supports both authors and readers alike. In addition to everything they already have on offer, a long-term goal is to also include publishing services, which is a #badassgoal to have.
For avid readers: you can purchase the Storyteller Subscription Box. This discovery box is an amazing product for readers, especially as so many of us love receiving items in the mail! where you receive an epic read and other items from local businesses.
What is included? A book fully vetted by the team and signed by the author, with other items included from local businesses – an awesome way of promoting local businesses!
For authors: if you’re an author who understand that your book is a business, you know you need to be able to stand out from everybody else. Storyteller Alley share their feedback with you. Some of these simple pieces of feedback could literally be the difference between your book being purchased, or not.
If you need editorial support then Veronica’s team can support that to happen too!
If you have a book but you haven’t published it yet, what should you do? Veronica has a team of around 40 beta readers, so that pre-published authors are in a position to gain feedback from an audience before it’s published – allowing you to eliminate any potential issues before you even take yourself to print.
We are so lucky that we now live in a world where we no longer have to approach publishing houses and receive rejection letter after rejection letter, potentially getting disheartened to the point that you don’t publish your work at all. With the options of digital self-publishing and indie publishing available; any of us can write, design and publish our work – could this be any more awesome for us?
So many of us have a hidden storyteller inside of us. If you can find the perfect ‘middle ground’ between your words, the mechanics of storytelling and how you design your cover; you can become an indie publisher.

Book lover. Indie author champion. Writer. Retailer. Semi-professional cupcake baker.
Veronica Jorden is a serial entrepreneur and a military spouse jack-of-all trades. Born a military brat, her childhood was spent traveling the world, always with book in hand. Now married to a career Army soldier, she has worked in a myriad of industries; including everything from non-profit to manufacturing, and human resources to government contracting. But no matter where she’s lived or the job bringing in the paycheck, the desire to be free from the corporate grind has been a constant.
When the desire to write and help authors tell their stories grew to strong to resist, she returned to school and earned a BA in English and Creative Writing. Since then, she has worked with dozens of independently publishing authors to help the polish and perfect their books for publication.
When she’s not working (which is rare), she enjoys baking cupcakes, crochet, action movies, hard cider, GoT, the Walking Dead, and planning a never-ending list of home improvement projects.
She lives near Annapolis, MD with her husband Dave, her three children, Kaylin, Noah, and Jess, and their crazy goat-cat-ninja Shih Tzu named Q.
