three signs you are ready to outsource your facebook ad strategy to an expert marketing consultant
Here’s my intention for each person that reads this article: I want your message to reach millions of people. I want your message to impact millions. I want you and your message to make millions.

You and I didn’t just start a business to make money. We started a business to make a difference. We want to serve our people, change our industries for the better and even leave our distinctive mark on this world.

To do that, you must have a message that matters to people. A message that paints a picture of what is possible. A message that rises up against what is wrong.

And hey, it would be great if that message could just be three words long.

Before you think I’m crazy and click away, I want you to know it’s possible to find that message (it can even be fun).

Think about it for a moment.

Simon Sinek wouldn’t be Simon Sinek without Start with Why.

Mel Robbins wouldn’t be Mel Robbins without the 5 Second Rule.

Tim Ferris wouldn’t be Tim Ferris without the 4-Hour Work Week.

You won’t reach all the people you want to serve unless you have that kind of a message or what I call a 3 Word Rebellion

What’s a 3 Word Rebellion?

At its essence, the 3 Word Rebellion is a way to distill your entire body of work into three words that encapsulate the change you want to create.

The 3 Word Rebellion instantly gets people to sit up, pay attention, and take action. It’s the ultimate pitch. It’s the ultimate hook to invite people into your community and the movement that you’re building with your business.

It’s everything you want to be known for wrapped up in three words.

It’s also a messaging framework that I created that is based on social movement theory. When I was completely burned out on my business, I noticed a pattern. I noticed that super successful business owners and social movements (like Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, #NeverAgain) had one thing in common: each could sum up their core message in three words or less.

Every movement is moving away from the status quo and towards a new, better future. What if I got my clients to articulate what they are rebelling against and the change they would like to see, would I be able to find their 3 Word Rebellion quickly?

The answer was yes. Now, I want you to start finding your 3 Word Rebellion right now.

What Are You Rebelling Against?

The first question to ask yourself is: What are you rebelling against?

It’s time to get ranty with this.

Look at what is going on in your industry, in personal development, or in the society that you want to see change.

What is it about the status quo that isn’t right, that we need to change?

In the first six years of my business, I worked mainly with speakers, and I am rebelling against so much in the speaking industry.

  • I’m rebelling against the speaking industry who doesn’t want to pay speakers.
  • I’m rebelling against all-white email panels.
  • I’m rebelling against speeches that don’t seek change.
  • I’m rebelling against selling from the stage.

When I do this exercise, I get about five pages of things I’m rebelling against because I believe that the industry could do a better job supporting speakers.

What Change Do You Want To Create?

However, it is not enough to just rebel. Rebelling without creating a vision of change leads to chaos. Or worse yet, it leads to the status quo being replaced with something far worse

Answer this question: What change do you want to create?

Now it’s time to get dreamy.

Dream big, be high-minded, and don’t worry about the how.

Your critical brain will definitely kick in and say, “Well how are you going to do that?” That’s not important right now.

Create the change you want to see with that “what if” spirit.

What if this could be true? What if we could live in the world?

For me, the change I want to create is this:

  • Speakers are valued.
  • Speakers are fiercely devoted to the change they want to create and to each audience member.
  • Speakers incite action always and don’t just motivate
  • Speakers get paid. It’s not a question of having a budget. It’s just assumed.

Your action step is to spend 15-minutes on each question.

Feel free to go over time if you are in the zone with your writing, because these two questions are the initial step to get you the words, the data, the clues to find your 3 Word Rebellion.

After you completed the freewriting, you can head over to 3wordrebellion.com and grab the full framework and that tells you exactly how to find and craft your 3 Word Rebellion.

For me, the ultimate goal of the 3 Word Rebellion is to launch a million rebellions, and now you’re apart of that mission

I want to encourage you to activate your audience, to be the leader of your movement, whether that is on a personal level, an industry level, or a societal level. The 3 Word Rebellion, that message is how it all starts.

We’ve had enough ideas. It’s time to act.

It’s time to lead.

It’s time to rebel.

Badass business owner, it’s time to create the change you want to see.
